Clocks going back

10.29.2010 by Eileen Moylan //

Although this piece by Chilean designer Francisca Prieto isn’t silver I had to put it up not only to remind myself that I get an extra hour in bed this weekend but to see if anyone else can figure out how it works!

I love seeing household objects being transformed into pieces of sculpture like this. She also has a timeless steel calender on the website below. Her other work uses material such as old books, sheet music and newspaper. I think this is reflected in her steel work where the metal has been manipulated as if it were paper being cut with a craft knife. This is achieved by laser cutting and acid etching.

Hope you can figure out how to tell the time, if not it’s all explained here.
